Recently, I had to have a “50 and older” procedure that requires drinking a bunch of nasty liquids then being put to sleep so they can perform the test. While in the room, they had to put an IV my arm, and because it took three tries to get it in, it brought back really bad memories from my recent open heart surgery, and I had to catch myself from tearing up. The nurse said it was most likely PTSD, but I was not sure about that.
When I woke up and heard the results were fine, I began to realize I did not trust in the Lord the same way I did before open heart surgery. Though I prayed about this procedure, I told myself, "This is an easy procedure, I got this." Needless to say, I did not have it and should have put the same trust in God as I do for most things no matter how big it is.
So my prayer for you comes from Proverbs:
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.
(Proverbs 3:5-6 NIV)
May the Lord fill you with a trust that is unshakable and may it provide you a peace that only comes from our God.
Have a blessed week and know He is with you!
